Accessing Tiny Core in Virtual Box via SSH (revision 130206-r01KI)

We can access and control Tiny Core from outside of Virtual Box using SSH.

  1. Start your Tiny Core in Virtual Box.
  2. Let Tiny Core stays active. Now open Putty in Windows or Terminal in GNU/Linux.
  3. Connect to Tiny Core:
    1. Using Putty, input Host Name localhost and Port 2222. Click Open.
    2. Using Terminal, type:
      $ ssh -l tc -p 2222 localhost

      and press enter.
  4. If you fill it correctly, command prompt window will appear with login as request in Putty, or password request in Terminal. Fill your login as field with tc and password as the one that you've made before this tutorial.
  5. If you fill your username and password correctly, you will be connected with Tiny Core. Congrats!

  1. Q: Help! My mouse cursor is active in Tiny Core and I can't drag it out back to my Windows!
    A: To stop Virtual Box capturing your mouse movement, press the right Ctrl key on your keyboard.
